Reflex Hammer Berliner

Berliner reflex hammer from Medipharchem, 20 cm long. The hammer has an axe-shaped metal head with a broad rubber edge and a stainless steel shaft. The broad edge gives a soft, even tap, which makes this model popular for general reflex examination.

For the major tendon reflexes

Use the hammer to elicit and assess, for example, the patellar and Achilles reflexes. The heavier metal part of the head gives good balance, so the tap is easy to repeat with the same force.

Cleaning

The reflex hammer is supplied non-sterile. Wipe it with a cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol after use and allow to air dry. It must not be immersed in liquid and must not be autoclaved.
