About the product
Semmes-Weinstein monofilament 10 g (size 5.07) for screening of protective sensation in the foot in diabetes.
Use
Press the filament perpendicular to the skin until it bends – the pressure then corresponds to 10 g. A patient who cannot feel it has reduced protective sensation.
Material and care
Calibrated nylon filament on a handle. Reusable – clean and disinfect between patients, do not autoclave.
