To take a measurement, fit the probe snugly into the ear canal and aim towards the opposite temple. ExacTemp technology confirms the stability and position of the probe with a light and a beep. Press and release the start button; the light pulses while the temperature is being measured and stays lit for three seconds to indicate a successful measurement. The thermometer switches off automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity, but can also be switched off manually.
